Savvy Coffee sits conveniently near Asquith train station, making it a handy stop for locals grabbing their morning caffeine fix or a casual bite. This family-run cafe has a lived-in, homey feel that stands out from more polished or minimalist coffee spots. Inside, you'll notice an eclectic mix of bric-a-brac and everyday office elements, giving it a quirky, welcoming character — like stepping into someone’s personal nook rather than a typical commercial space.

The atmosphere feels cozy and informal, often filled with the mingling scents of freshly brewed coffee and cooking bacon, which some visitors say can linger on their clothes — a small reminder of the cafe’s laid-back, home-cooked vibe. It’s a place where locals, including dog owners, come not just for a quick coffee but to linger, chat, and enjoy the relaxed surroundings.

On the drink side, the coffee is well-regarded for its quality, with skilled baristas who add an artistic touch to each cup that regularly surprises and delights local patrons. It’s a spot where coffee art genuinely feels personal and inviting.

Food options lean toward freshly made, straightforward fare such as ham sandwiches, muffins, and sausage rolls, with some vegetarian choices available as well. This makes Savvy Coffee practical for those looking for a light, fresh meal alongside their coffee, rather than a full dining experience.

Those who appreciate a sense of community and enjoy places with character will find Savvy Coffee suits weekend mornings or early afternoons when the cafe is spacious enough to settle in quietly or catch up with friends. The friendly and attentive staff contribute to a down-to-earth vibe that keeps people returning.

A little cafe owned by family, located around the Asquith train station. It was interesting experience. We enjoyed looking at their bric’n brac collection displayed. There was no walls or duct to get the cooking smoke out of the restaurant, and you have bacon smell in your clothes afterwards, which makes me feel like you are invited to someone’s home, not to mention their computer and other office bits around. As you can see from the picture, there is nothing fancy about their food. The sourdough and white bread was supermarket bought ones, so as the chicken schnitzel, I think. But the price was reasonable if you think that you get what you pay. Don’t get me wrong, it was good food. The smashed avo was well seasoned, the halloumi was perfectly cooked, and the amount of salad and sauce in the chicken schnitzel sandwich was perfect. The cook obviously knows how to cook. The soy chai latte was good too, but chocolate milkshake was a bit ordinary.. The service was good. Our server was very polite and friendly but had to come back to check our order again and again… Overall it was good and pleasant experience though, it has certain character and definitely positive one.

We visited this quaint coffee shop near Asquith station and it was really good experience. The Ham sandwich was really good and fresh made, had a few Muffin and sausage roll options available as well. Quite spacious and very uniquely decorated. Coffee was good as well, surprisingly spacious when you enter, had a few Vegetarian options available as well, good find and will come back again
